They have long wings, adapted for soaring, and usually a forked tail. Note: The European species are {Milvus ictinus} and {M. govinda}; the sacred or Brahmany kite of India is {Haliastur Indus}; the American fork-tailed kite is the {Nauclerus furcatus}. 2.
